Admission to the Honors Program is competitive and space is limited. The application consists of two parts: Prospective students report their academic credentials and compose written responses to the provided prompts. Each student's application is carefully reviewed, with academic credentials and the quality of written responses having equal importance.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and prospective students can expect to receive a written reply within 3-4 weeks. The first review cycle of applications will begin December 2017. Applications received by February 1, 2018 will receive priority consideration for first-year scholarships awarded by the Honors Program. Applications submitted by March 1, 2018 will be given priority consideration for admission into the Honors Program. The final deadline to apply is April 1, 2018.
Students who have already been admitted to Illinois State University and have an ACT composite score of 30 or above (or equivalent SAT) are eligible to apply for the Presidential Scholarship and admission to the Honors Program. This process is by invitation only and is coordinated through the Office of Admissions.
