Dr. Tim Fredstrom has accepted the position of Director of the Honors Program at Illinois State University beginning July 1, 2013.
Dr. Fredstrom currently serves as Associate Director of the School of Music and Associate Professor Choral Music & Music Education at Illinois State University. He holds degrees in vocal performance from Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.
While at Illinois State University, he has been awarded numerous awards for teaching and service, including an Illinois State University Teaching Initiative Award (2005), an Illinois State University Service Initiative Award (2006), and an Outstanding University Teacher Award (2011)
The Honors Program has limited funding available for Honors students to provide partial support for undergraduate travel (1) to a professional conference to present their scholarly or creative work, or (2) to conduct essential research for a well-defined project.
Applicants must be members in good standing of the Honors Program. Students may apply for reimbursement for trips completed after July 1, 2012. Future travel must be completed by May 1, 2013. The purpose of this program is to fund expenses not covered by any other means. Recipients will complete a brief report and form after their travel to receive funds.
