Honors Student Scholarly Travel Program

The Honors Program has limited funding available for Honors students to provide partial support for undergraduate travel (1) to a professional conference to present their scholarly or creative work, or (2) to conduct essential research for a well-defined project.

Applicants must be members in good standing of the Honors Program. Students may apply for reimbursement for trips completed after July 1, 2011. Future travel must be completed by May 1, 2012. The purpose of this program is to fund expenses not covered by any other means. Recipients will complete a brief report and form after their travel to receive funds. The Application process is ongoing. To apply:

  1. Complete the Application Cover Sheet (clear printing is acceptable):
  2. Attach a one-page (or less) description that explains your project and why it merits funding.
  3. Attach a budget (transportation, lodging, registration, meals).
  4. Attach a letter of endorsement from your Illinois State Faculty Mentor.
